This is the 10th Anniversary release of my book that was
published in 1998. After it sold out its 1,000 copies, orders
continued for several years. For this reason I decided to
re-issue it.
My good friend and fellow writer, Anthony Buccino, posted
the news at his site. If you go to that site and
click on the title of my book, it will take you to where folks
can order copies.

What makes this book special is that I wrote it primarily to
present to the reading public a truer image of Sicilians and
Sicilian Americans, an ethnicity the media has done much to
denigrate.
Whenever Italians or Sicilians are portrayed on TV,
whether in sitcoms or even in advertisements, the theme is
almost always related to the Mafia. This is unfair and
discriminatory against my ethnic group. My book shows
Sicilians and Sicilian Americans as they are.
It was also my way of sharing with readers my love of Sicily
and things Sicilian.
Lastly, it gave me the opportunity to save the people I love
(grandparents, parents, uncles, aunts, friends)
who have passed from this life but live in my pages.
The book makes an excellent Christmas gift!

Bylines 2007 Writer's Desk Calendar is “ a 'Must-Have' for Writers. Bylines 2007 Writer's Desk Calendar, a handy weekly planner for writers, is now available from Snowflake Press. The 2007 edition includes tools for writers such as goal setting tips, monthly task lists, a listing of literary holidays and a section listing online resources for writers. Bylines also includes pages for conference notes, birthdays of famous authors and more. But the most important part, the reason people buy the book, is to read the weekly heartfelt stories by writers about some aspect of their writing career. These stories ring true long after the calendar year has passed.
Stories give glimpses into moments of a writer's life: the agony of a cancelled book contract, the joy at finding life's true passion, the humor of an interview gone wrong, a crystal clear moment of inspiration or the blessing of a rampant imagination. Stories are written by dedicated writers. All are published, working writers who have a passion for writing and take pride in their work. Bylines celebrates these working writers by showcasing their work, work which hopefully inspires and motivates other writers to produce their best. The 53 writers in this year's edition include 46 writers from 22 states and 7 writers from six foreign countries (Canada, Ireland, Greece, India, South Africa, and New Zealand).
In its four years of existence, Bylines has grown in size, and is now 160 pages. New in the 2007 edition are listings of all the winners of the Nobel Literature Prize, winners of the Pulitzer Literature and Poetry Prizes, and 53 brand new essays on writing. The book has only one poem, written by Sal Amico M. Buttaci.
Bylines is available at www.bylinescalendar.com and www.amazon.com, and can also be ordered through your local bookstore. It's the perfect gift for any writer!
